Rhaya Medical Camp
March 20th
| This was my first medical camp, and it was conducted at a PHC in a farming village towards Kathua. I was completely inexperienced, and I the drugs I brought with me were wholly inadequate. We saw about 70 patients, but only 20 benefitted. Frankly, I felt the camp was a failure, but the experience brought me knowledge that would make the later camps much more successful. Fortunately, Dr. Preetaish Kaul (below, left) and Dr. Aftar Singh (below right), did an excellent job diagnosing and counseling patients. In later months, Preetaish became my best friend. He is one of the dearest and most sincere people I have ever met. |
