CAMERA:
For all the photographs, I used a Canon EOS Elan 7E SLR
camera body, often with a tripod. The Elan 7E has good functionality
and solidness, but its manual aperture and shutter speed controls
are clumsy to manipulate.
LENSES:
28-80 f/3.5-5.6 II zoom lens. Satisfactory optics, with a useful wide-angle
range, but with noticeable distortion and light-loss at the corners.
75-300mm f/4-5.6 III telephoto zoom
lens. A thoroughly impressive lens--good results at all focal lengths,
though the AF is often clumsy as it scrolls back and forth on difficult
subjects. There is often corner light loss. Tripod recommended, but I have
been able to use it on sunny days at 300mm without one. Most of the
photographs on this site were taken with this lens.
50mm f/1.5 II prime lens. My
favorite lens:
it is very fast, and for this reason, I use it for portraits. Clean
optics.
