DIGITAL  PROCESSING  TECHNIQUES:

Images were processed with Adobe Photoshop 6.0 or 7.0, and saved as JPEGs with minimum compression, or as compressionless TIFFs.

The following Photoshop tools were used:
-Cropping, resize
-Contrast, brightness, tone curves adjust
-Hue, saturation, color balance adjust
-Sharpen filter

For example, the Cobb Gate gargoyle scanned in as follows. Notice that the scanner has clearly distorted the colors and resolution, making the scanned image quite different from what I actually saw.

After adjusting tone curves, brightness, contrast, hues, color balance, and sharpness, the image was finalized. Note that the color of the snow and sky matches what I observed.

In several photographs scratches and specks of dust (example below) manifested in the scanned images. Since these artifacts did not show up in the prints, I used Photoshop to digitally erase them.

Aside from the dust and scratch removal, no other techniques were used to process the photos.
