The links below open a 5-minute slideshow of 28 photographs of the abandoned Kaiser Aluminum Smelter in the Port of Tacoma.  The photographs were taken by Alex Park and Paul La Porte through July-August of 2003 using 35mm slide film and SLR cameras.   

The images were scanned from the slides without alteration, and they are accompanied by a short history of the smelter with a symphonic background.  The slideshows are Flash- or Java-based, and both are offered in either High-Res. or Low-Res. formats.  Individual photo credits appear in the low-right hand corner.  Slideshow design and programming by Paul La Porte.
